There is a lot of Spotted Wintergreen, a native wildflower, blooming in the woods near our home. The flowers are a waxy white with very pronounced stamens and pistil as you can see in the photographs. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)
The interesting thing about the Spotted Wintergreen is that when they are just starting to bloom, they face downward. As they bloom, they start to face upward and, when fully bloomed, end up facing the sky.
Such a delicate little wildflower, don’t you think?
