At first I thought this was “just another Sparrow” in our yard until I saw the two bright yellow spots on his head and his white throat. And then I knew it was a White-throated Sparrow, a bird I had never seen before and what a beauty! (Click on blog link for other photo.)
Not only does he have such distinctive coloring with a black and white striped crown and yellow spots between his eyes and bill, but his song is amazing. It sounds just like, “Old sam-peabody-peabody.”
Have you ever seen a White-throated Sparrow?
I love those yellow spots!
The rest of his coloring camouflages him so well!
