We took a ride up to Provincetown yesterday to see what Herring Cove Beach looked like after the storm last week. They sure did get a lot of snow up there! We could see the snow on the dunes as we were driving into Provincetown. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
When we got to Herring Cove Beach, we had to very carefully walk from the parking lot to the beach trail. Each trail had a lot of deep snowdrifts on it. It’s the most snow I’ve seen at the beach in a long time, much more than Wellfleet or Eastham.
In the last photograph, you can see the erosion mitigation fences. It was such a pretty day as the sun had just come out after many days of cloudy weather. You can even see Race Point in the distance.
A snowdrift is a beautiful thing – if it doesn’t lie across the path you have to shovel or block the road that leads to your destination.

Looks chilly but peaceful and beautiful. We were there between Christmas and New Year, walked the causeway.
