With the past few winters washing away so much sand at Boat Meadow Beach, the town has brought in trucks full of sand which they are dumping at the edge the beach. Hopefully this will slow the erosion that keeps eating away at the beach during the off-season.
Maintaining a beach is clearly a big, expensive, ongoing project!
The town needed to add more sand to the beach and the parking lot. It’s an ongoing battle each month and the homes right near the beach are getting closer and closer to the high water mark.
