It seems like there is always a fishing boat docked at MacMillan Pier. The Yankee Rose was just beautiful on the dock with that gorgeous sky and They Faced The Sea mural in the background. You never know what you’ll see at the Pier, but it’s always pretty unique!
The mural in the background, originally installed in 2003:
“The installation of five larger-than-life black and white photographs of Provincetown women of Portuguese descent, mounted on a building at the end of Fisherman’s Wharf in Provincetown Harbor, is conceived as a tribute to the Portuguese community and its fishing heritage.”
One photograph was destroyed by weather; the remaining four were “refreshed” in 2015.
