What a wonderful New Year this is going to be at our house. Look who moved into our new owl house! We put the owl house up this past fall and were hoping for a new tenant. What a treat this will be… an Eastern Screech Owl!

Eastern screech-owls can rotate their heads 270 degrees. They have 14 vertebrae in their necks (humans have only 7)!
They have asymmetrical ear openings. One ear is higher than the other to help them pinpoint sound.
These owls are opportunistic eaters. If they think they can eat it, they will try.
